DUTCH DESIGN WEEK 2023
During the Dutch Design Week, we had to create an exposition in the theme of 'Real or Fake'. For this project my task
was to create a motion graphic together with 2 classmates, to entice visitors of DDW and the Heuvel Galerie to come to
the exposition. The Heuvel Galerie is a mall in Eindhoven, with a variety of shops. Something that has caught my eye
were the mannequins, a way for shops to entice the audience to come inside. Besides, it is a fake human trying to sell
the clothes that it is wearing.
I decided to take pictures of all the mannequins over the weeks. These pictures were the basis of the AI generated images
that were created. The prompts given to Midjourney were not random, some of them went into the problem that current
mannequins do not represent society. All these images were mixed and morphed together in After Effects to get this result.
PROCESS
In the beginning I wanted to learn Cinema4D and after a tutorial started to just experiment. After two short experiments, I started looking at the Heuvel Galerie as context and wanted to try to make a hyperlapse. The ball started to roll when I took the pictures of the mannequins.
